Strange Thing Smokes in Bed: I heard she smoked in bed and set the house on fire. She lays here with a big cigarette in her mouth and the shape of a house at the end of it. That striped image floated around on the page as I had no idea what to do with it until it spontaneously landed in her mouth, surprisingly setting the stage for her demise. There’s a dresser in her room and pictures on the wall, icon of a protector, the other is a self- portrait. The clothesline continues to appear showing her attempt to attend to ordinary daily affairs. She also continues to write in her journal. Sadly, this is how Barbara Hepworth passed away and I was not ready to be finished with this series. So, I decided to bring her back in a new way.
Strange Thing Gathers Her Belongings: The fire and purging are over. Maybe she’s learned her lesson, smoking in bed is not a good thing to do. Her room is turned upside down and she has decided to gather her belongings. It’s time to move on as she continues to hold the flower of love. The cow and all its symbolism is with her; female power, healing and new beginnings. Looking at life from a whole new, unknown perspective.
Strange Things With Pillows: In spite of the fire, the story continues. Perhaps now it’s just a dream. You can tell that Strange Things have just woken up, gotten dressed and put on their dancing shoes. With a rather perplexed look on their faces, they are looking for a place to dance.
Strange Things Have No Idea: where to go, what to do! It’s not the world they once knew so they seem a bit confused as to how to how to proceed.
