Dates are roughly set around mid February, perhaps beginning at dinner on the 18th-and ending the morning of the 27th. It’s good to arrange to arrive a day early to begin to adjust and I recommend adding the Taj or anything else you might be interested in at the end. We can adjust the dates above if you let me know soon about any conflicts. I will take only six participants for the workshop. If you bring a spouse or friend who isn’t interested in iPhone, we would be okay bringing 7 total.

Day 11: Fly home or off to the Taj…
Rawla Narlai is a very special place. Its’ calm and beautiful atmosphere is perfect for relaxing and yet the images you will capture there will be your favorites which is why we stay there for three nights. The locals are open and welcoming, wandering easily into their homes, schools, barber shops, the jeep ride is my favorite part of the entire workshop as we watch the shepherds returning at dusk with their sheep, goats and family. There’s a hike up to the elephant mountain for tea and the food is wonderful. It’s a delicate balance to see and experience everything, yet meet for instruction and critiques. It is a workshop after all, with individual goals and assignments.
A lot of thought goes into this itinerary, as I mention it’s a delicate balance, sightseeing, shopping, shooting, instruction, reviews and time to relax and truly enjoying what is going on around you. I think it’s best to not fit in too much in such a short period of time and perhaps after this initial introduction to India you will find it calling you back as it does to me. It’s important we work together as a group, sharing and commenting on work daily. You’ll be given individual “assignments” according to what it is you want to do and say. Obviously single imagery is very important and, we’ll have assignments for compositing work as a form of journaling. In addition, we stay in good hotels, both for the water filter systems, cleanliness and comfort. India can be quite stressful getting around, especially driving being an experience you’ll not forget.
