Background for Making Connection Series
I have created stories in photoshop for the past 12 years and despite my pathetic attempts to organize the various parts into folders so I could easily and systematically find things, I am horrible at it. No, truthfully I am excellent at it but it’s just that I prefer not to spend my time doing it regardless of how much time it may save. I made a folder called “backgrounds”, storing my multi-layered pieces which create backdrops for the different series. They are the foundation of the image, the grounding which allows me to play in the foreground where all the stories manifest.
On my hike today I was listening to Eckart Tolle. I have listened to it numerous times over many years and as my awareness shifts, my understandings shift. He spoke of one’s background and foreground:
“Awareness is always present there in the background but we are never taught to single it out. We take it for granted that (the foreground) our outer reality and our thoughts about that outer reality is everything there is.” Eckart Tolle
So on my walk I focused on the background, the foundation and listened to the forest.
